With a database of this size you should be using online database backups instead of an export. An online backup would take much less time with the only constraint being your backup device. The recovery would also only take a few hours depending on your tape device.

Just a note regarding oracle import it does NOT create a table, a index and then load the data. The index is created sfter the data is loaded to minimize IO.
