Mr. Metz,

Did you ever hear of E.F. Codd? How about IBM's San Jose Project which resulted in the development of SQL, the SQL/DS DBMS and eventually DB2? Not to mention the INGRES Project at University of California - Berkley. INGRES was a great DBMS when Oracle was busy giving their stuff away to PC developers to get it debugged (a la Microsoft).

What short memories we have!
