Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> About SGA Problem ....and DCD problem on sql*net ??
Hi,theres,
I have some problems about SGA size.
My DB (7.2.3) is on a DEC Alpha/2000 (1 CPU ,256M RAM just a DB server),
the clients run sql*forms 3.0 ,sql*reportwriter ,forms4.5 & report2.5.
Usually 10-15 concurrent users.
I just wonder that what's the "best" size of the SGA on my machine ?
"The larger the better" of the SGA size ?? (until it can't be startup)
Enlarge the SGA will get better performance ?
(or it has some limitation)
Besides,my machine run both sql*net V1&V2, there are always some runnung
process on the server even the connection is broken.
What should I do to prevent the processes consuming resourses ?
Though, oracle provides some parameters in sqlnet.ora to achive the
goal. Does it really work to sql*net V2 ?
How about the dead V1 connections ??
Any idea ??
Thanks in advance for any suggestion !!
Rgds,
Agi
