Hi,theres,
Our site runs Oracle on an DEC ALPHA/2000 (1CPU ,256M RAM one instance), the clients run sql*forms3.0 & sql*reportwriter.When I monitor the processes, I find that some running process use 5 - 10% of real memory, listing asfollows: USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY S STARTED TIME COMMAND oracle7 3105 33.0 9.4 35.3M 243 ?? R 16:23:23 37:57.84 oracleor oracle7 5268 33.0 4.9 34.5M 125 ?? R 18:27:59 1:42.92 oracleor oracle7 5210 32.0 8.7 34.8M 228 ?? R 16:57:21 13:24.96 oracleor oracle7 5553 0.0 3.0 34.5M 7.6M ?? S 17:44:53 0:17.51 oracleor oracle7 4344 0.0 0.0 34.6M 0K ?? IW 13:51:07 0:02.81 oracleor oracle7 4622 0.0 0.0 34.5M 0K ?? IW 14:59:10 0:00.56 oracleor oracle7 4976 0.0 0.0 34.4M 0K ?? IW 16:22:50 0:00.14 oracleor oracle7 4979 0.0 0.0 34.4M 0K ?? IW 16:23:13 0:00.52 oracleor oracle7 5113 0.0 1.9 34.4M 4.8M ?? I 16:47:53 0:00.56 oracleor
And SGA size follows:
Total System Global Area 26755000 bytes Fixed Size 70744 bytes Variable Size 14068576 bytes Database Buffers 12288000 bytes Redo Buffers 327680 bytes
I doubt that each running process used 5-10% real memory, what's the max mem that the running processes can shared ?? Besides, must I enlarge the SGA size ??
Can someone give me any idea ??
Thanks in advance for any suggestions !!
ps.There is only one running instance on DEC.
Rgds,
Agi
