Oracle, ARCserve and Backup agent

Does anyone know a reason why when using ARCserve and the backup agent for
Oracle 7.3, the backup gets to the archive files and then simply hangs up?
The processor is maxxed out at 100% at this point and the job cannot be
stopped.  There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the setup, so I'm
stumped.
