BMC have a product called SQL Trax that allows you to look inside Oracle's Redo Log files, in Oracle7 days.

You don;t say what type of problem you are having with the restore, but I believe there was a problem with Oracle recording large numbers (multiple millions) incorrectly in the Redo Log file and the Database files.
