Replication/hot standby

I am looking to build a hot standby for an Oracle 7.3 25 Gbyte database running on a NT 4 platform.

Origonally I was looking at writing perl scripts to copy the control files and redo logs over to the standby and performing a recover to achieve the syncronizing. But I have read some advertising stuff about a product called SharePlex by Quest. Has any one had any experience with this product.

Any info would be appreciated.

Tony Adolph
