Problem with SQL-select

I migrated an Access-DB-Table with an AutoValue ID-Field called PERSID to Oracle 8. The SQL-Command "select PERSID from T_TABLE where PERS_NAME = 'Smith'" produces no result (select PERS_STREET ... works fine).

What's wrong ?
