Here's a working configuration on 8.0.5 ...
Note the local_listener includes two different ports for load balancing.
local_listener = "(address_list = \ (address=(protocol=tcp)(host=sunbox)(port=1525)) \ (address=(protocol=tcp)(host=sunbox)(port=1526)) )" mts_service = WSS1 mts_dispatchers = "(protocol=tcp)(dispatchers=5)" mts_max_dispatchers = 30
Is the mts_listener_address you've used still valid in 8.x? Some parameters were obsoleted in Oracle8.
