Legato Storage Manager

Hi there,

I'm using Legato Storage Manager (the version that came with Oracle 8) for Oracle backup&recovery, but when I want to restore a database on a clean installed Windows NT system + Oracle 8, Legato returns the error 'cannot find volume in index' when trying to mount the backup-tape. Obvious, since there is no (online) volume index on a clean system. But how do I restore a database then ? I know Legato Storage Manager is making a backup of the volume index on tape every night, but there seems to be no way of restoring it.

Am I missing something here ?

Regards,

Simon Verzijl
