HELP WANTED: VB AND ORACLE 8.03 CONFLICT?

On a windows 95 machine, there had oracle 8.03 sqlplus installed and it had been running Ok until we installed Visual Basic 5.0. After VB was installed, whenever we run oracle, windows memory protection error comes out. We called the local Oracle Support, we were told to delete the windows registration items using REGEDIT and reinstall oracle. we did that but nothing changed.

We think that some .DLL files in Windows\system directory might be changed by VB. We donot know how to fix it up.
