It's not really recommended that you get certified without experience. Oracle typically recommends a minimum of six months of experience, and most people in the field recommend a year or more. In all honesty, an employer will care far more about experience than a piece of paper saying you knew how to study and pass a few tests. They want hands on real life experienced DBA's.

If you insist on going the certification route without any experience, plan on at least a year of studying and taking the tests (from what I have heard, they are difficult, particulary w/o experience because they present real life situations that need to be solved). I've worked with SQL Server in the past, and have been working as an Oracle DBA(on Sun Solaris) for about a year now....trust me, there is no comparison. Oracle is a whole nother ballgame :-). (It's more complex, and much more of an enterprise RDBMS).
