Tablespaces are places to put things. Every tablespace should, in effect, have a policy statement on what is meant to go in it. The easiest way to do this is to use meaningful names (e.g. app1_large_indexes).

If I was keen enough to change the name, I would find a excuse for a re-org to justify the down-time if any, save the contents, drop and re-create the ts, and reload.
