I am a little confused by these comments. Our vendor told us that we could not run Oracle WG server on an RS/6000, that only Oracle Enterprise server was licensed for RS/6000s. My preference from the beginning was to go RS/6000 because of inhouse expertise. Because of these statements we have been considering running Oracle WG on Compaq/NT or DEC Alpha/Digital Unix.

We are in a position where we have to select our production hardware, (for 55 seats of Baan IVc with Oracle 7.3.4), by the end of month.

Does anyone care to comment on Oracle WG licensing restrictions for RS/6000s.

Thanks

Stephen
