Moving datafiles to mapped drive on NT

Hi,

I have an Oracle 8.0.5 server installed and am trying to move datafiles from a local harddrive to a mapped network drive. I get a 'File not found' error and an access denied message. The datafile has been physically moved. When I try the same routines only moving the file from local drive to local drive, I don't have any problem. I have write access to the NT drive.

Does anyone know if Oracle prevents moving datafiles to mapped drives? I asked our DBA and she didn't know if this was a problem or not.

Any help is appreciated.
