long raw datatype

hi all,

currently, i am trying to create a table with a long raw column to store an attachment (which is a form). note that we are using Oracle 7.2).

my question is,

• how can i do the retrieval of this attachment is sql statement point of view. otherwise, what can be done in order to retrieve this attachment.
• i would also like to know how is the storage (insertion of data) of this attachment to this colunm be done. it should be different from the normal data insertion, i suppose.
• where will this attachment resides in?
• can anyone provide me with samples of issuing the above sql statements to do the retrieval and inserting of such attachement into the table.

would appreciate if anyone could reply me asap, it's urgent.
