The three programs you are attempting to run are all Java applications, and most likely your problem is a graphics display color issue.
Java (and not just these Oracle tools) have a requirement of a minimum of 256 colors. If you are currently running at only 16 colors, change your settings to at least 256 colors and try this again.
If, on the other hand, you're running at a level greater than 64K colors, then this most likely is an identified bug with Windows NT 4 SP3 (function used by Java to determine system colors returns wrong information). There is a fix for this posted at:
