Database Security OWAS 3.0.18

I have encountered some weird behaviour when using custom authorization with the PLSQL cartridge
When trying to access the Database with Internet Explorer 4.01 from a Macintosh (System 8.5.1), the authorization function does not even recognize the request.
The User gets a response, that the page is protected, even if he uses a correct Password.

Is this a MS-IE bug ??

Trying the same procedure with IE from W95 or NT, and with older versions on a Mac, does not produce this error.
