Connection memory requirements

Hello,

I am trying to quantify the benefit of reducing the number of connections an application makes to the database. Is there a number for how much memory is being allocated by the server for each user connection? I remember a while ago the numbers used to range between 50k and 100k per connection.

What are they now? And where is memory taken from? Is it the SGA that gets eaten into or is it something else?

Thank you in advance.
