hi there:

I've and Oracle 7.3.2 Database under NT. I would like to upgrade to Oracle 8.0.5 but i couldnt do so. Someone said to me to use the EXP / IMP method. I have executed EXP73 and i export the FULL database to one file named DB.DMP. Now i've installed Oracle 8.0.5 under a fresh Windows NT. How can i now IMPORT the database to Oracle 8.0.5 ? I couldn't do so. Even, if i have the control files, the rollback files, the datafiles, the system files all files that i need in one directory what's the fastest way to put the DB working (under 7.3.2) !!! I copied those files to the \orant\database overwriting the DEFAULT DATABASE and the database is not working. The services are started, but the instance is not running. Once more, is there anyone who can explain to me how to put a database working, with those all files copied, after the installation of ORACLE ... the default db is working... and i shuted it down. Then i rename the orant\database dir to orant\defaultdb to keep it safe, then i create a \orant\database dir and i copy the files to this dir... But the instance is not running, even when i run the file strtorcl.cmd (instance start file)...

Ok resuming the problem is :

MAIL ME PLEASE !!! Thankx
If you know how to help me mail me to jricardo_at_ipb.pt
