Using CORBA and Oracle Developer

Looking for any information on building onto an application built with Oracle Developer (Developer 2000?) to use CORBA to communicate with another server. The goal is to be able to present it to the user as one application.

Can CORBA be used from Oracle Developer? Or, do I need to use JDeveloper?
(have been using CORBA from test app residing on a client with a client orb
installed for testing. These test app was developed with VA for Java)

Can a connection between existing Oracle Developer forms and new forms/applets
(if not developed with Oracle Developer) be made?

What are the risks of this approach?
