OAS3.x is linked with 7.3 libraries.
It cannot connect directly to an Oracle8 database. You must use a connect string -- not an Oracle Sid to connect OAS3.x to Oracle8.x. Not an oracle sid...
you need to run the oracle8 listener, and put the correct tnsnames.ora file into \orant\network\admin (your listener.ora and such will be in \orant\net80\admin)
