I am running Oracle 8.0.4.1.4 and Oracle Apps 11.01 on a NT box. I am using Backup Exec to do the hot backups Saturday through Thursday. On Friday night, I have Backup Exec call a batch procedure that shuts down the Oracle services on both Oracle machines (Forms server and Database server). I am using RCMD to remotely issue commands to each server in the batch procdure. RCMD is part of the NT resource kit. When Backup Exec is done, it calls a post procedure to start the NT services with RCMD. I can provide more details if you are interested.
