You can't with the version that you have got. Although the CD says that you have the Enterprise Edition, Oracle only shipped the Standard (i.e. Workgroup) edition which doesn't include Bitmapped Indexes.

You'll have to wait for the Oracle 8i version for Linux which should be available around the end of Feb, beginning of March which will ship as the EE. Received on Wed Feb 03 1999 - 07:51:10 CST
