Mark,

We had similar problems with 8.0.5 on NT SP3, also on Compaq kit, to diagnose the offending process you need to install the NT Server Resource Kit and use Pviewer.exe (process Viewer) (Funny that this is all standard stuff on Unix? pstat,vmstat etc).
