Hi Roland,
No, any create tablespace or add or drop datafile is not recorded in the redo log, as this are changes to the PHYSICAL structure of the database. Any other -logical- change (drop table amongst them) is recorded in the redo log.
If your database crashes, and you need to retrieve a control file from backup, this control file will not have the changes you just made and you will loose your tablespace etc.
