Likely a simple problem?

I installed Oracle 8.0.4 on NT. Allowed it to install a default DB. No problems reported. Connected using Security Manager tool to change the password of both SYS and SYSTEM. No problems. Connect with SYS or SYSTEM and connect as: SYSDBA and I get "ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied" BUT when I connect without SYSDBA it get in..

I checked the roles of SYS and it's got EVERYTING.. What and I missing?

Dave
