has all sorts of benchmarks, often including TPC, for various hardware platforms. The benchmarks don't give you a direct answer to your question, but they might help you if you can find some sort of reference point. For example, if you can find a similar application on another machine, you can find that machine's benchmark numbers and use those as a guideline for purchasing your own system.
