No, Allocate as much as your memory controller allows. But: do you really need as much memory for block buffers (1GB)? Perhaps some indexes may reduce the need of full table scans.

Or do you need much space in the shared pool (SQL cache stored procedures, PL/SQL tables and such stuff?
