Hi,

We are moving a database from Oracle8 enterprise edition to Oracle8 standard, and I'm wondering what the best strategy is here. I can see two possibilities:

  1. Export the database from Oracle8 Enter. and then import it in Oracle8 standard.
  2. Remove Oracle8 Enter. (we have to do this anyway), but don't remove the database. Install Oracle8 without creating a database, and then point the server at the old database.

Any comments appreciated.

thanks,

Nick
