Hmmmm.. It's kinda funny that O8 is just now getting a feature that was in it's #1 competitor Digital Rdb (Now OracleRdb) as far back as late '80's. Rdbv7 now has strict partitioning... the ability to horizontally and vertically parttion the data.

If O8 is anything like Rdb, then make sure you have the partitions in seperate tablespaces, AND on seperate disk and I/O channels/controllers if possible.
