File Sequence Error (Help!)

S1010:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Function sequence error

I get this when I try to rollbacktrans

I found a TechNet KB article that said that it was because the coursors were not held over the transaction. so in the odbc admin I change the coursor option to HOLD but I still get the error.

does anyone have another suggestion, or idea as to what direction I should look for a solution.

This is very important as I am using trying to use begin-commit transaction to maintain
data integrity.
