Look at the NT eventlog.
Look at X:\ORANT\NETWORK\LOG\LISTENER.LOG
or into the trace directory.
Set TRACE_LEVEL_LISTENER to ADMIN and try again. There will be pile of
messages.
You can startup the listener by hand with
"lsnrctl start" wtach the messages the listener control program
produces.
