Oracle To Access '97

I have Oracle 8 Workgroup Server running on NT4. I need to pass data from this to an Access 97 database located on the same server. Unfortunately this action has to be initiated by a call to a PL/SQL procedure (otherwise it would be straightforward ODBC calls from an Access module). Is there any way of opening an ODBC connection into Access from a PL/SQL procedure. Failing that is this a job for the COM cartridge. Any thoughts appreciated?
