Hi:

We have a Sun Sparc Enterprise 450 running Solaris 2.6 with 1 GB RAM, Three 9GB hard disks and 3 more for mirroring, 2 SCSI controllers, Oracle 7.3.4 Enterprise and Microfocus COBOL and the application itself.

We would like to keep the Solaris install (Enterprise level) on the 9 GB boot disk and Oracle, COBOL, the application and the database on 2 remaining 9 GB disks.

  1. What is the optimum Solaris sizes for root, swap, var, export/home...?
  2. What would be the optimum disk partitions for Oracle?
  3. Any other things that I have missed?

Thanks a lot
