expected disk throughput ???

We are running oracle on a F50 RS6000, 4 CPU machine with 1 GIG memory and a SSA Disk Subsystem. running oracle 8.0.4

We are getting between 1.3 to 1.7 Megabytes per second throughput across each of the 10 drives that have been striped, totalling about 13 to 17 Megabytes per second.

This is very dependat on the SQL statement that is being executed.

Is this throughput for the disk subsystem good bad average etc??

A "feeling" of disk throughput will be greatly appreciated
