Re: Error: Oracle Redo Log Archival

If my feeble memory serves me correctly, this message indicates that you have 1 of the 2 required parameters set for log file archiving but not both. Either you have issued the alter system archivelog and not enabled automatic archive logging via init<sid>.ora, or vice versa. Check to make sure that both are active. Also make sure your archive_log_dest has ample space to hold your archive logs, otherwise your database will come to a screeching halt when that location fills up and runs out of space.
