This is sometimes difficult to determine. It depends alot on the type of transactions and workload on the system.. What I often encounter are systems that switch log files twice a day and then the next day 60 times.... How do you tune these environments, well, it's not easy.

.... I would suggest you aim to have logs switch every 20 minutes or so during your peak periods...Beware of batch updates...

So... If you have 10meg redo-logs now and during peak times they are switching every 4 minutes, you may want to try 40 megs...
