I am having trouble getting a start up script running under the /etc/rc2.d directory that will start oracle
and lsnrctl for the database on boot.

the start up script executes the /$ORACLE_HOME/dbstart, and /$ORACLE_HOME/lsnrctl start commands.

During boot, oracle attempts to start but gives back the message that their are insufficient priveleges.

The owner of the resources is a user called oracle in a group called dba.

The permissions on the directories for oracle home are rwxrwxr-x for (owner-group-other).

Since the machine boots as root, i would like the database to start on boot.

All comments are welcomed, i need details.

Thanks in advance.

Warmest regards,
