Replication and New Records

I am working on converting the backend of a standalone VB - MS Access based app to a replicated Oracle Lite 3.5 and Oracle Server 7.3.4. My question. How does one insert new records with a unique key on the snapshot site (Olite), so that when it is replicated to the master there are no conflicts. From what I read, replication does not support sequence numbers to the snapshot site (my first approach). Any design ideas from battle scarred veterans? Thanks.
