WHile not specific to Solaris and 8.0.4, I have seen this when the OS has not
freed up a memory segment from a prior instance. IE, the Oracle instance was
bounced, but the OS wasn't. The OS hasn't/can't clean up. Bouncing the whole
platform usually solves the problem.
It has occured for us on busy systems with lots of network connections. I have seen this on AIX, HP, NT and I think Solaris, but I am not sure about the last. (Too many platforms, too many similar issues.)
It is an OS issue.
