Dear dba's ,

thank you for your suggestion.

I tried a third way. Since the databases inside the firewall are quite accessed and their architecture is quite weak, I cannot use dedicated servers for them. So I used a third machine with dedicated servers in Intranet that is able to talk with the Internet machine and the other databases (with MTS) of the IntraNet.
The synonyms of the Internet Machine point to this database whose synonyms point to the real databases in Intranet.

The problem is that the packages on the Internet Machine do not work
(they try to refer themselves to the links specified in the first
link), while sql does. We use Oracle WWW server that needs these packages.

(They understand to point directy to the real databases).

Thank you. Received on Mon Dec 21 1998 - 07:05:25 CST
