Resizing a Datafile

Hello -



I am pretty new at Oracle - We have Oracle 7 running on SCO Unix.  I
would like to know if you have to bring the database down to manually
resize a datafile (or can I just keep everything running) ?



I was planning on using:



ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE 'file1.dbf'


RESIZE 15M;
