I have run both on the same machine before with no problems. That is until it came time to upgrade the sql server with a hotfix from MS. This wouldn't of been a big deal except that it required a reboot of the machine, therefore really pissing the Oracle users off. I just wrote it down as a learning experience and now run each database on its own server, because sooner or later some sort of patch or hotfix will most likely need to be applied somewhere.
