My company's databases are running on Oracle 7.1.6 in NCR Unix machines. There is seem to be no Y2K problem in those date functions. But I still worry about the Y2K problem may be hidden in somewhere I can't find. <<

Most y2k problems involving Oracle have to do with the way applications define and handle date fields in the display and acceptance of dates from the screen. If the customer insists on entering only two digit years then some program logic may be required to handle the year '00'.

There are some known bugs with Forms 4.5 and the 'RR' date mask defending on your release and if you run server based instead of on the desktop. Oracle has a pretty decent paper with a list of recomendations for date handling in Forms available at their web site: www.oracle.com/support.
