"Check Tuning" script available for download.....

Please see the site below for download. I've added a "Check Tuning" script that provides a "quick view" of instance-level performance. The script selects dynamic performance statistics, performs calculations, determines if the value is within a suggested target range, and suggests initialization parms or configuration changes to implement or further investigate. It's essentially equivalent to several hundred pages of tuning documentation, all rolled up a in script. Areas examined include:

• Library cache hit ratio
• Dictionary cache hit ratio
• Buffer cache hit ratio
• Sort area hit ratio
• Redo log space requests
• Enqueue waits
• Checkpoint degradation
• Rollback contention
• Redo allocation latch contention (willing-to-wait and immediate latches)
• Redo copy latch contention (willing-to-wait and immediate latches)
• Freelist contention
