Hi,

I am trying to distribute a pre-config oracle server and I run into the problem of setting listener.ora.

There is a field HOST in listener.ora that identifies the hostname. e.g. sparc21.xyz.com. However, since I am uncertain about the host it will be running on, I used "localhost" but apparently listener is to talking to client anymore unless I change the HOST into a particular hostname.

Is there any way to get around it? Can I use external command e.g. `hostname` in listener.ora. Are there any Oracle defined variable for listener.ora I can use?
