The port you use doesn't depend on sqlplus or worksheet, but on the listener which is set up for the database server. If you can configure that one, you have the choice of which port the listener will use. You have to make sure, that your local tnsnames.ora matches the tnsnames.ora on the server side. This file includes the portnumber. You can check your connection to the database with tnsping.
