Hi,

     I had the exact same problem with having to reset my redo logs. I tried to do exactly as you have suggested but I seem to have run into a new problem, following the CANCEL .. and then trying to do alter database resetlogs;

I get an error message that says

ORA-01194: file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent ORA-01110: data file 1: '/usr09/oradata/mnet/system01.dbf' SVRMGR> alter database open resetlogs;  alter database open resetlogs
*
ORA-01194: file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent ORA-01110: data file 1: '/usr09/oradata/mnet/system01.dbf'

Any ideas what may be wrong ..
I would appreciate any feedback.
