This is not completely true. It can get created in other places even if not specified in the sqlnet.ora, For example; if you create a shortcut for SQL*Plus (in NT or 95) and change the start-in directory to different location (for example D:\MYSQL) then each time you use this shortcut to fire up SQL*Plus then the sqlnet.log file will be created (or updated) in this location (in this example in D:\MYSQL not C:\ORANT\BIN).
